If it’s Friday, this must be chocolate.
Posted by Donna Freedman on May 28, 2010 | 29 commentsGreetings from Alaska, where men are men and so are the women.
(I’m allowed to say that because I lived here for 17 years and still consider myself an Alaska wo-man.)
For the next 10 weeks I’ll be arranging the Friday giveaways from the Last Frontier. Although there is actually a locally produced confection called Alaska Wildberry Products, it will have to wait until later because I’ve got Godiva to spare.
Calorie-free treats
Yes, I brought a clutch of chocolates north. This week’s winner can expect an assortment of high-class treats. And they’re calorie free!
Think about it as a logic problem:
- Chocolate contains calories.
- This chocolate does not cost you anything.
- This chocolate is free.
- The calories are therefore free.
Bingo! Calorie-free!

I’ll let you know if anything really exciting happens. Maybe I’ll see a chocolate moose.
Note: This Friday’s giveaway is going to be really big. Think “major online retailer gift card.”

At our office we are always making up excuses for things to be calorie-free… for example, our doughnuts are calorie free because it had some calories but luckily they were all in the hole!
Beth: Everyone knows that if you break a doughnut and hold it over the sink, all the calories will leak out.
Thanks for reading.
Subscriber on Google will follow on Facebook, don’t do Twitter but I do subscribe to your daughter’s blog and facebook.
And dark chocolate is good for your heart!
Alaska!! Oh, I am so envious! If you find that chocolate moose, pack him in little boxes and bring him home. I selflessly offer myself as someone willing to help you with the monumental task of disposal of that delectable beast. Hope you have a wonderful time Up North.
Also, anything homemade is calorie free.
Oh goody! Chocolate!
Have a great holiday weekend!

[I don't know if my entry can count since I won a couple of weeks ago, but] I just HAD to say something about the logic problem. And that is…I LOVE IT! You are a brilliant logician.
Nope. Not for me, thank you. I really do not want chocolate at all.

I really enjoy reading your blog! (and THAT’s no lie!)
@Deedee: Tell your friends! Spread the URL love…..
@Bashtree: You’re eligible, because I don’t pick the winners — a random number generator does. That way I avoid the appearance of impropriety. You can’t win if you don’t enter.
I subscribed in Google reader. Great giveaway
This is SUCH a great website, Donna! I’m about to leave on a trip, but look forward to reading your site regularly when I return. Saving money & calories is a priority with me!
I subscribe in my Goog;e reader. I wonder if Godiva ever spreads Alaska love by making moose shaped chocolates?
Mmmm Chocolate….
Umm, chocolate!
