Giveaway: Treat your feet.

In most of the country — not here — summer means sandals and flip-flops. We’ve still got a month or more of naked toes.  That’s why you need this week’s giveaway.

It’s a kit from The Body Shop that contains almond-oil hand and nail cream, nail clippers and half a dozen nail files, packaged in a neat little carry-all that’s cloth on the inside and bamboo on the outside.

The whole thing folds up to be about the size and shape of a No. 10 envelope. Once you’ve used up the contents, the kit would be a good way to package cosmetics or toiletries for a weekend trip.

I wish I had a photo, but my staff photographer is indisposed. (Translation: My niece, who has been taking pictures for me, is out of town.)

Full disclosure: Technically it’s a manicure kit. But perception is reality, and since I initially perceived it to be a pedicure kit, then it is a pedicure kit, right?

No matter what you call it, it’s free to the person whom the random number generator loves this week.

If you do any (or all!) of these things, please leave an additional comment for each entry so that you’ll be fairly counted.

The deadline is 9 p.m. PDT Monday, Aug. 2.

And can anyone tell me how it got to be almost-August?

  2. My feet need this, but my first reaction is, “Who cares about you!? You’ll always be feet!” Then again, I don’t want to have gross cracked feet with fungus-ridden toe nails. So count me in. Dangit.

  3. I live in Florida, where toes are exposed a lot more than just summer months, this would get much use!! Thank you!!

  4. Donna, I think your on the right track. Tracking expenses can be tedious and boring, but it does give you a much clearer picture of what can be cut. You have already defined what is a priority to you and that is a big step in and of itself. Keep plugging. Love your articles!!

  5. Dear Donna, I recently discovered your site and was especially moved by your post on “Giving” (or maybe better put, on how to ‘receive’). It was the most moving article I’ve read in a long time, and one which for me, was very timely.
Thanks for your warm, witty insight into everyday living.
    Best regards, Peggy

  6. I’d like that manicure/pedicure set. Send it on!
About budgets, I don’t have a set budget and don’t use financial software. I keep that stuff in my head too. I tried to set up a budget a few times in my 20’s and 30’s, but they didn’t stick. They just seemed too arbitrary and plain old boring.
I’ve found the best way to save money/hold onto it is to not blow it on useless crap. Just eating in instead of out and bringing my lunch to work twice a week has really helped me breathe easier during this recession. And reading PF blogs helps a lot too!
