Let’s make this clear: I don’t read romance novels. But a woman I know does. No. Seriously! It’s not me!

Check out her post, “What you should be reading for Christmas,” either as an occasion for hilarity or a chance to make a reading list. Romances aren’t my cup of (overly sweetened) tea, but they might be yours.

And yeah, Christmas has come and gone – but Valentine’s Day awaits.

“Blue Monday,” aka the most depressing day of the year, is Jan. 24. Godiva chocolate could be just the lift you’ll need — and if you win this giveaway they’ll be in your mailbox in time to lift your spirits.

Up for grabs are:

  • Three chocolate bars (milk, dark and milk with almonds)
  • Two tins of chocolate “pearls” (dark chocolate and dark chocolate with mint)
  • One bag of chocolate-covered strawberries

Knowing that the sweets are on the way should help you make it through Blue Monday. And if you’re immune to such problems? Hang on to the treats — they’ll make a heck of a Valentine’s Day impression on someone.

To enter:

If you do any (or all!) of these things, please leave additional comments to get credit for each entry.

The deadline is 9 p.m. PST on Monday, Jan. 17.

Practical Parsimony was the winner of this week’s giveaway, a $20 Amazon.com certificate.

I’m sure her grandson will be relieved, because Practical P. plans to spend the scrip on an iTunes card for her grandson, to “accompany the boring bathrobe I am giving him.”

Happy birthday, grandson — dodged a bullet there.

In other news:

Beyond Tupperware: Frugal food storage,” my most recent post at Get Rich Slowly, was selected for the Carnival of Personal Finance at Wallet Blog.

Celebrate ‘Shred Your Credit Card Day’ and win” made the cut at the Festival of Frugality at Cash Money Life.
