Scroll up to the top of this page and look to the right. All the way to the right. See that illustration of a golden trophy? I haven’t won it yet, but with your help I could. In fact, I could win two of them.
I was nominated for “Best Blog Contributor or Freelance Writer” and “Best Written Blog.” Looking at that last category causes my inner grammar geek to emerge: It should be “Best-Written Blog.” But they probably don’t give prizes to grammar geeks, so let’s pretend I never said that.
Here comes the entreaty
If you feel that:
I am a better writer than Emily Guy Birken, Khaleef Crumbley, Miranda Marquit or Crystal Stemberger
Surviving and Thriving is consistently better-written than The Simple Dollar, Consumerism Commentary, Budgets Are Sexy or Get Rich Slowly,
then I would certainly appreciate your vote.
I’d also appreciate it if you tweeted this piece, put it on Facebook or in some other way made it visible to other potential voters.
Yes, I am looking for a little validation. Writers are the most insecure people on Earth.
You have until Sept. 21 to cast your ballot(s) at http://www.plutusawards.com/vote/. Note: You don’t have to vote in every category if you don’t feel you know enough about them all. For example, I’ll cop to skipping the “best personal finance software” because I don’t use the stuff. I don’t know which is best.
So don’t panic when you’re presented with “page 1 of 15.” You might not be voting in every single category.
If you think I’m worth your vote, I thank you in advance. And if not? You can still enter the Friday giveaways. No hard feelings.
