Beating the high cost of groceries.

Kelly Hancock, who blogs at Faithful Provisions, has a new book out — and a shopping bag to match. This week you have a chance to win both.

Saving Savvy: Smart and Easy Ways to Cut Your Spending in Half and Raise Your Standard of Living…and Giving” is a good primer on saving money at the supermarket and drugstore.

As her blog title suggests, Hancock writes from a Christian perspective: Bible verses and professions of faith are abundant. But so is good, practical advice that newbie deal-seekers should find quite useful.

Now: Picture a royal-blue ahopping bag that bears this image:

The bag plus the book is what you’ll get if the random number generator likes you best.

If I win I will give the book to one of the newbies in our coupon club after she makes her first under $5.00 shopping trip for a week’s worth of groceries.

I would keep the bag for myself. My collection of coupons would look really good in there.
