Wow! My sentiments EXACTLY! I think everyone needs this shirt.
Too often we go through our daily lives doing what we should but often spending time acting out of a reaction to things that happen to us. In 2007, I lost 5 special people in my life due to death, all within a 2 week period in April. I went to 3 of the 5 funerals. My mother past away in September and we lost our home to a wildfire in October. At the same time all of this was happening, my marriage was falling apart and my husband refused to do anything about it. I felt like I was married to a stranger on paper and hanging on because I had a 6 year old son who needed his mom to be strong for him. I dealt with one thing at a time and tried desperately to improve things with my husband for the sake of our commitment and our son. I soon realized that I was merely surviving each day and that is no way to go through life. We are blessed with this one life on earth and I did not want to waste another single day. I took the last insult from my husband that day. My turning point was when he put me down in a terrible way and I said to him, "How can you stand there and treat me like this when I have always shown you love and devotion?" His reply was, "Because I can." -- That was the moment I stopped hanging on. I decided I was not going to survive another day. I was going to stand up and thrive, not survive! I was not going to live "broke, stupid or lonely" and the only one who could change my circumstances was ME. I was sick of living in our furnished rental and not having a home to call OURS. I kicked my husband out and told him to think about what he wanted because although he would complain, he kept saying he didn't know what he wanted to do. He wouldn't try anything to improve our marriage but he didn't pursue a divorce either. I felt like I was being dragged along and didn't see how I could stop it. I reacted to my situation by hanging in and dealing with it, instead of standing up on my own two feet and changing my situation. The next morning, I started looking for homes online. Within a few months, I found a great bank owned home to buy which was valued at over $100k more than its cost. I bought it with my half of our insurance money and more wonderful things continued to follow. I created a new beginning for myself. I took online courses and met an amazing man to love, who truly cherishes me and my son. The most important thing I have learned since then, is that we are in charge of our attitude and what we do to improve our life. No one should go through life "broke, stupid or lonely."

I'm assuming the saying on this shirt is a take off on Dean Wemer's words of wisdom to the boys in Animal House?

I'll take it! I'll wear it everyday!
