Giveaway: “The Good Life for Less.”

9780399160295L-1Amy Allen Clark knows a thing or two about frugality. She and her husband found themselves in financial trouble before the first of their two children was born. It was sink or swim, and she chose to swim: She championed the cause of cutting back expenses and paying off debts.

But that was just the start. Clark founded the MomAdvice.com website. She became a spokeswoman for brands like Kenmore, Kelloggs and Minute Maid. Now she’s written a book called “The Good Life For Less: Giving Your Family Great Meals, Good Times and a Happy Home on a Budget.”

I mentioned this book in a Frugal Nation post, “Save big on sandwich meats.” Clark roasts a turkey every couple of weeks for sandwiches, saving $3 to $7 a pound over the sliced gobbler at the deli counter.

“Once you have a turkey sandwich like this, all of that processed lunch meat won’t taste as good and you will never go back,” she says.

  2. I have to agree about the lunch meat thing! I always cook extra chicken, steak, roast beef, etc for sandwiches. I’d love to read the other ideas in the book!

  5. The Good Life for Less, sounds like good reading for the new year and how we, husband and four young adults, have lived our life for more than thirty four years. We are still looking for more ways to do it.
