Swagcode alert! (And four more to come.)

The Swagbucks rewards site has a “Five for Five” promotion going on starting, well, right now. Before I explain, let me give you the first code:

Zoom over to Swagbucks and enter the code BloggerTips, which is good from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Pacific today. The case-sensitive code is valid in the United States, Australia and Canada.

Go ahead. I’ll wait. But then come back to find out what a “Five for Five” promotion is.

Now that you’re back, here’s the scoop: Swagbucks has asked bloggers to put out posts touting the latest code. I’ll be doing this four more times between Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 17. Each code is worth five points. (Hence, “Five for Five.”)

I already put active codes up on my site’s Facebook page whenever I find them – it’s legal now – but obviously this is somewhat hit-and-miss. Thus I suggest that you check your blog feed on the following days:

• Friday, between noon and 2 p.m.
• Monday, Aug. 12, from 6 to 7 a.m.
• Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 17, from noon to 2 p.m.

I hesitated to join this promotion because I’m not a deal blogger as such. Ultimately I decided to do it just to give readers a shot at the extra points.

I invariably cash mine in for Amazon gift cards, which I stockpile for holidays, birthdays and “just because” occasions. From time to time I use them to order glamorous things for myself, such as wool socks and long underwear. That’s the kind of thing that happens when you move back to Alaska.
