Thanks to all those who’ve e-mailed tips about Austin or left suggestions in the comments section. Based on that and my own schedule in the capital city, I’m thinking about 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3 at a restaurant called The Shady Grove.
Anyone up for meeting there? And is 11 a.m. too early?
If so, then how about 11:30 a.m.? I’d like to get there before it fills up for Sunday brunch. The menu looks tasty indeed.
Best-case scenario: The conversation is so much fun that we find some nice shade trees in the park and keep chatting. If it’s truly stinkin’ hot, then perhaps we would find an air-conditioned place nearby (McDonald’s? a shopping mall food court?) where I wouldn’t worry about camping at a table and ruining a server’s chance to make some coin.
Or maybe all of you have, you know, lives and need to do other things after brunch. If that’s the case I’d just take the bus down to the museum.
Speaking of buses: I need to organize my trip to The Shady Grove based on what time you guys want to be there, i.e., 11 a.m. vs. 11:30 a.m. So if you think you can make it, please leave a comment indicating what time frame works best.
Hope to see you soon.
