Giveaway: A $10 Starbucks gift card.

thIt’s summer and it’s hot. Beat the heat, if only temporarily, with a frou-frou cold beverage at Starbucks.

Some people say that hot tea and hot coffee are actually more cooling. They may be right.

To me, though, an iced tea or cold soft drink or even plain old water is what I want when I’m feeling hot and sticky.

Full disclosure: I don’t generally go to Starbucks because, well, frugal. But this week I’m making it easier on some reader’s budget by giving away $10 worth of SB gift cards.

Lemonade, iced coffee, Frappuccino, iced tea, something called a Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher — take your pick, as long as it’s under ten bucks.

Or have a cup of hot tea. Weirdo.

  6. Would love to win the gift card. But would be passing it off to DD2 who is a hard working intern this summer. She’s working 40 hours and this would be just the treat after a hard day at “the salt mine”.

  7. My 11-year-old daughter has discovered the delights of frappiccinos. She would love the GC. (I’ll probably stick with my Diet Coke.)

  8. I have tried & tried to receive your emails. It says I’m already subscribed, but no confirmation comes in my inbox or my junk mail. I’m so sad. I really miss the emails because I don’t follow Facebook as much as I check my email. 🙁

  9. This time of year down in Georgia, businesses turn up the AC so much, you need a warm drink and long sleeves at work to keep from getting chilled! A drink from Starbucks sounds lovely!

  10. Just moved my old self to a new house. Hot thirsty work. Won’t you give an old couple a cold drink? We can look real pitiful if necessary.

    Best wishes from Best Bun.

  11. I usually buy a lb of decaf Sumatra and after I make a pot, I refrigerate it. Then I usually have an iced coffee every afternoon and it’s so strong that it’s almost like having a latte.

  12. I’m also following via facebook. And for my last comment (the one about buying the lb of coffee) I used the incorrect e-mail. I just moved and have to remember to change my e-mail address. Oh brother!
