Giveaway: “Fix It Make It Grow It Bake It.”

FC9781573443654The subtitle of Billee Sharp’s book is “The D.I.Y. Guide to the Good Life.” If that sounds like you, then enter to win this book.

It’s designed to help you consume less and create more. Sharp’s philosophy is “applying effort, common sense and imagination to daily living,” which she says can ultimately free us from unnecessary expenses.

Or you could view it a how-to for spending more on the things that matter to you (organic food, non-exploitative manufacturing) by reducing costs elsewhere.

“We all want the means to realize our hearts’ desires, but it is perhaps these desires that need to be reexamined,” Sharp says.

“We can see that our daily actions have very real repercussions, and what we do as individuals shapes our world both literally and figuratively. We now have an opportunity to take our vision for humanity more seriously.”

With a friendly, encouraging style Sharp shows how a less consumer-centric mentality can lead to a calm and contented life. This is by no means a grim and joyless “see how much you can do without” tome. No book that includes recipes for sangria and gingerbread men could be considered dull.

  3. I’ve never won one of your book giveaways. However, you once gave away a book about living the “amish” way. I ended up buying it for 99 cents, really enjoyed it and it’s been passed around in the family.

    I hope I win 🙂

  4. I have just recently found Donna’s site, love it, just what I have been looking for as a resource: to read how other’s are dealing with life, to gain fresh perspective, and there are such great great books and ideas!! I hope I win as I am dealing with a divorce and picking up the pieces after, financially not able to do very much. I need help and inspiration in living simply, & contentedly spending as little as possible. Thank you Donna for having such a valuable site dedicated to living life to the fullest. I now have this site as one of my settings!!

  5. I’m assuming you can’t make anything by linking to this book (since I didn’t see a link), cause I’ve only just read the post, and since I obviously can’t win, I’m ordering it!
