Back in 2000, Scott Jordan got frustrated when trying to mix two of his favorite things: travel and tech. So he created what he called the “pocket revolution,” i.e., a line of clothing that would organize and protect his gadgets while leaving them easily accessible on the road.
Since then he’s sold more than 10 million pockets, in the form of “tech-enabled” clothing for men and women – everything from underpants to hoodies. Multiple pockets, some of them completely hidden, protect your gadgets, cash and other valuables.
Just for giggles and grins, here’s a video of best-selling author Amy Tan showing what she keeps in her SCOTTeVEST clothing:
The garment is a veritable clown car, isn’t it?
When a representative from SCOTTeVEST contacted me to offer a couple of samples, I jumped at the chance – and one reader will win two great-looking, comfortable and practical garments.
The Chloe hoodie is made of lightweight microfleece and has 14 pockets, including hidey-holes for small notebook/Kindle/Nook, smartphone, camera, travel documents and glasses. Something called an “infinity zipper” lets you zip the hoodie all the way up to the top of your head; although that’s not something I would do, I might very well zip it up to my eyeballs on a particularly windy day.
The RFID travel vest features 18 pockets, one of which has a water-bottle loop (to keep your Daisani upright); another pocket has RFID-blocking properties to keep your passport and credit cards from being skimmed.* The others hold the same sorts of things that the Chloe hoodie does. It’s treated with Teflon to make it water- and stain-resistant.
Each garment has an extendable key holder connected inside one pocket and an eyeglass-cleaning cloth in another.
You don’t need to be a travel hound to enjoy the utility. Any gadgeteer will find these useful even if the only trip that day is to the supermarket and the dog park. The holidays are fast approaching, and these would make a great gift – that is, unless you want to keep them for yourself.
Heck, I’d like to keep them. But nope. They belong to whoever wins this week. Thanks to the SCOTTeVEST company for donating them. (Note: This is not a sponsored post, i.e., I am not being paid to write this.)

Due to the high cost of international shipping, a winner from outside the United States will receive an Amazon gift card.
*This isn’t as huge a risk as one might think, according to a cybersecurity expert quoted by the Sacramento Bee. But since that guy cops to keeping his own passport in an RFID-protected wallet, I’m going to go out on a limb and say it won’t hurt a thing if you do, too.
I would love to win.
I have been considering this garment for a gift to my husband. I think he would really appreciate it! I hope I win!

I’ve been looking at this company for some time and was considering buying one of their vests before a spring family trip to Scotland. You can never have enough pockets when traveling by air. For a trip like that I like to keep my iPod, Kindle and phone handy along with the required boarding pass, id etc and the SCOTTeVEST looks like the ideal garment for the job. I wish I wish.
OOH-I would love to win!

I’d love to wine a vest. I have a Sholdit, an infinity scarf with a pocket and loved it on a trip to Charlotte.
As someone who had her credit card info scanned and hacked at the Atlanta airport, I appreciate the RFID-blocking properties of the pocket.
