Hey, all you motley, foolish idiots: Wanna play the stock market?

I’ve got a couple of books that will get you started – and I’m giving them away. That means two winners this week.

The Motley Fool Million Dollar Portfolio: How to Build and Grow a Panic-Proof Investment Portfolio” by David Gardner and Tom Gardner was critically acclaimed for its readability as well as its savvy. Their work “stands out as an ethical oasis in an area that is fast becoming a home to charlatans,” according to The Economist.

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Stock Investing” by Sarah Young Fisher and Susan Shelly is designed to walk you through the investment process with an eye toward long-term profitability.

Anyone feeling lucky? If so, here’s how to enter:

If you do any (or all!) of these things, please leave separate, additional comments to get credit for each entry.

The deadline is 9 p.m. PST Monday, Feb. 13. If I do not hear back from the winner by Wednesday night, I will choose another name.

  1. I’m tired from working all week. I’d rather feel lucky. If a lottery ticket won’t do it, these books just might!

    Thanks, Donna!!!!

  2. I just spent most of the afternoon yesterday surfing the net trying to learn how to buy stocks and invest without anyone doing it for me. This sounds like the thing I need!

  3. I would like to win these. My son is just starting out in life and nothing would make me happier than having him make a “killing” in the stock market.

  4. I also subscribed via your rss feed and get emails from you. Love your writing style and especially your Get Rich Slowly columns. The donate your body to science was one of my favorites.
