I have given birth to nerd-dom.

Today is my daughter’s second wedding anniversary, and the blog post she wrote confirms what I already knew: She’s as big a geek as her mom, and she found herself a geek to marry, too. You can tell by the gifts they wanted.

I won’t say what the gifts are because, obviously, I want you to read about it in her words, not mine.

I will say this: At least they’re thrifty nerds.

And to Abby and Tim: I can only say how much I admire your fortitude. Not only because you’ve manged to live together for more than three years without serious mayhem. (Don’t think that’s not a big deal, though, given what I know about the both of you.) No, I’m talking about the health crises and unemployment and family issues and more than your share of tough breaks.

Through it all you’ve held on to what matters most: Each other.

Long may it continue. For the rest of your lives, even.

Happy anniversary.

Love, Mom

@Sharon: Not to sound too corny, but they know that the biggest and best gift they’ll ever receive is…each other.
    Thanks for reading.

  5. I didn’t know Abigail was your daughter! What a small world!
