In a recent post, “The true and simple rules for house-sitting,” I wrote about how startled I was to come home to a nearly dead potted tree in my living room.

There’s more.

No, I’m not giving away a package of cold and flu. You can get that for yourself by walking into any elementary school (aka “the Cootie Factory”) or riding public transit (ask me how I know).

Thus I’m giving away a package aimed at keeping you from getting sick, and that will help keep you comfortable if you do come down with something.

What’s in the package?

“A bag full of chocolate would be a wonderful gift (it’s my birthday tomorrow!),” wrote a reader named Melanie.

The random number generator must have agreed, because it selected Melanie as the winner of the Godiva selection: chocolate-covered almonds, chocolate-covered dried strawberries and three kinds of chocolate “pearls.”
