Want to join my mailing list?

As noted previously, I’m close to finishing the sequel to Your Playbook For Tough Times. The working title is Your Playbook For Tough Times, Vol. 2: Needs AND Wants Edition. But the title may be augmented slightly, since long subtitles are a thing among personal finance publishers.

Last night I finished proofing a printout of the manuscript, finding more than a few issues throughout. As I noted in “Try editing on paper,” the mistakes just seem more obvious on flattened wood pulp than they do on a shiny screen.

Very glad I read it this way. Now DF has agreed to do a read-through; here’s hoping he doesn’t find many more gaffes, lest I start doubting my ability to write a useful sentence. After that, I can send it to the formatter and then on to the cover-design guy.

One of the (many) things still to do is continue building a mailing list for the book’s launch. Since my blog readers have been supportive the first time around, I’d like to invite anyone who’s interested to join the list.

What’s in it for you? A discount, and a promise.

First, the discount: Everyone on the mailing list will be sent a coupon code that lets them purchase the e-version of Vol. 2 for just $5. To put this in perspective: The paperback will cost $9.49 and the Kindle version $7.99.

Some folks have suggested I charge more, given that my PF colleagues are pricing their physical books as high as $16.95. Given my subject matter, I want the books to be available at an affordable price that still pays me for my time.

A mailing list bonus

Next, the promise: I will never, ever sell your information and I promise not to spam you. It’s likely that I will send at least one pre-publication e-mail, with a description of what Vol. 2 covers. This will give you an idea of how the newest Playbook can help you on your journey to financial freedom.

Short form: Money-savvy people are those who learn the difference between essentials and extras. Yet there’s no reason you can’t have everything you need and some – or all – of what you want, once you’ve gotten control of your cash.

In addition, I may send a chapter out in advance. I want to give anyone who’s interested a peek at why s/he should spring for the second verse. (Hint: It’s not the same as the first, except as regards the underlying premise of getting the most bang for each buck.)

If you’re interested in being on the mailing list, just leave a comment along the lines of “sign me up.” I will use the (hidden) e-mail address associated with your comment, unless you tell me differently.

Again, thanks for your continuing support of my writing.
