Black Friday giveaway: Two $25 Amazon.com cards

Gifts © by www.metaphoricalplatypus.com

You don’t have to use them on Black Friday, of course. Use them on Post-Turkey Thursday or Cyber Monday. Or just hoard them until you see something you want to buy.

And if you don’t shop at Amazon.com? Sell the gift card on the secondary market and use the cash any way you like.

This giveaway acts as the one I didn’t put up last week. Here’s the plan: I’ll pull the winners on the day before Thanksgiving and e-mail the gift card code as soon as those folks write back to me. That way the scrip will be available right away, whether the winners want to do the lightning-deal thing or just go shopping for ordinary stuff like novels or condoms.

To enter:

If you do any (or all!) of these things, please leave separate, additional comments to get credit for each entry.

The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time on Wednesday, Nov. 21. If I don’t hear back from the winners by 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, I’ll have the random number generator select different names.

  1. I would love to win this. I have barely started my Christmas shopping, so an amazon gift card would definitely help out.

  2. It is horrible that a lot of Walmart employees are planning to strike on black Friday with so many out of work. Winning the Amazon gift card would be great, since $25 is what we have agreed to spend on all family members we exchange gifts with this year.

  3. Boy would one of these come in handy. I just HAD to replace my computer (10+ years old) and my SIL, knowing I am VERY adverse to tech changes insisted I get the latest, heavy duty intel processor (i7). Add in a part I needed and the 4 year warrantee and I spend nearly 1k.

Turns out Windows 7 will NOT accept my old printer do I need to replace that too.

AND 3 of 4 grands have bdays end Mar/beg April.

  4. Definitely use these as gifts…older daughter has a Kindle, so she can get some e-books with this. Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. and e-mail and twitter, of course. You know, I have yet to look at Frugal Nation. I guess I need to pop over there.

  6. I should comment every day when I visit just so you know I don’t JUST come for the freebies. But do appreciate the chance to win.

  7. Really enjoy your articles on MSN.com, and now I know about the blog, I will visit often. Thanks for the gift card opportunity.

  8. I’ve been reading you on MSN for a couple of years, and subscribed to Surviving and Thriving, but this is the first time I’ve commented on your site. Always enjoy reading your articles!

  9. This would be so helpful with Christmas coming up, or maybe a treat for me!? Love your work, look forward to every email from you! Thank you!

  10. I went out ONE time on Black friday and swore to never do it again. Thanks to the internet I don’t have to.
Thanks for the chance to win.

  11. Thanks for the chance to win something any of us can use. Don’t know anyone here who doesn’t buy *some*thing from Amazon! Btw, I already subscribe to your emails :0)

  12. This would be a great prize to win and would make Christmas shopping a little easier. It seems to get harder every year.

  13. Happy thanksgiving! I just got back from a short visit to Alaska, where I grew up. Hope you are enjoying life up in the Greatland! I’m in Georgia now, and don’t miss all that darkness in AK this time of year!
