Blog roundup: Stupid virus edition.

That’s me who’s sick, not the computer. I’m pretty sure it’s viral: Sore throat, slight cough, aches and malaise but no fever. Blech. This is one of those times when it’s not good to be single. If someone else were here I could ask him to please go get me a box of Popsicles.

I wanted to write something staggeringly clever and original but after a day of research/interviews for my day job, I’m feeling somewhat battered. Also acutely aware that I leave in, um, 13 days and have to turn in a lot more work unless I want to be writing from the Piccadilly Backpackers Hostel. (Hint: I don’t.)

I’m going to bed early. The rest of you can read.

  1. Sorry you are sick. 🙁
I made an excellent chicken noodle soup yesterday, wish I could transport some through the interwebs to you. I think it would cure what ails you. Thanks for some good links here. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

    • @DeeDee: Thank you! I actually made some beef-vegetable soup last night. Very tasty, and my doctor would approve: It contains lots of vegetables (plus their cooking water) and relatively little beef.

  2. I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, but at least it didn’t happen during your trip. I hope that you feel better soon. I’ve got a cold right now too; I went to the pharmacy to buy cold medicine and felt like I was barely alert enough to figure out which kind to buy (good thing a nice pharmacist helped me). I got the store brand so it was less expensive, but I figure it was a necessary purchase either way. Make sure you get lots of rest!

  3. I’d bring you popsicles if you didn’t live so far away! Drink lots of fluids. My kids had this bug. Somehow, I’ve been able to dodge it. (furiously knocking wood)

  4. Ooohh., Please do feel better and get plenty of rest and fluids! I was really sick about 3 weeks ago and had a massive ear infection because I did not take care of it right away.

  5. Hope you’re on the road to recovery!

The link to Doing What You Love doesn’t seem to be working…does that mean we get to retire after all?

  6. Hope you get better. I got sick over a week ago, the best thing I did was get plenty of rest early on. That investment of time in resting now just might pay off in more productivity later.
