BOGO, meet GOGO.

Surviving and Thriving is not a “bargain of the day” site. Plenty of other blogs already do that, and do it much better than I ever could. However, at times I’ll be writing about deals that I think are too good to pass up.

The “GOGO” deal at CVS is a good example. The drugstore chain has introduced e-gift cards, and during the month of May you can get a free gift card every time you give one.

(“Give one, get one” as opposed to “buy one, get one.” Cute, huh?)

You can order up to $150 worth of GCs this way, earning as much as $30 worth of freebies for your own use. And here’s the beauty part: You can send the GCs to yourself.

That means all of you Extra Bucks junkies can invest $150 and wind up with $180. It’s similar to the supermarket gift card promotion that I invested in earlier this year, except in this case the return is 20%.

A couple of other advantages:

  • You can schedule the GCs to be delivered for future occasions such as birthdays or Christmas.
  • You can personalize the gift with an online template or upload a photo and type in your own message.

The only problem with this promotion is that there aren’t any CVS stores in Seattle. I wish there were.

Note: This is not a sponsored post. I don’t do those. I simply wanted to pass the deal along to those who can take advantage. Remember that the promotion is good only through the month of May.

  1. There are CVS stores (CVSes?) here in Phoenix. Just sayin’…

But seriously, it’s not a bad idea. Kind of like when you stocked up on grocery gift cards when they offered 10% bonuses. You’re going to spend the money anyway, right?

  2. Yay,I’m clapping like a two year old! You made my day. I’m turning into a CVS junkie. I’m experimenting with them right now. The coupons that I have been getting are nowhere near as good as when I started shopping there. My guess is they back off once they have you hooked. So I’ve backed off shopping there as much so we shall see if they start back up again. Just a thought or maybe I think I’m too valuable of a customer to lose!;)

  3. It’s like you read my mind or something! I got back a while ago from Albertson’s. They are giving away a $10 off next grocery purchase coup0n when you purchase a $100 gift card at one of 6 stores. I love shopping at Penney’s online outlet, and I love free groceries! I placed an order that had been on wish list with Penney’s this evening.

I’ll have to check out the CVS offer. The best thing about my Albertson purchase is that I used my Albertson’s gift card that I got in April – they gave me $30 free for that transaction. Best of both worlds, GOGO.
