Free health screenings at Sam’s Club.

thWhen was the last time you had your cholesterol checked? How about your hearing or vision? Sam’s Club can help.

More than 600 of the warehouse stores will provide a handful of free health tests this Saturday (Aug. 13) – and you don’t have to be a member to take advantage.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the follow screenings will be offered at all Sam’s Club stores with pharmacies:

  • Glucose
  • Total cholesterol
  • HDL (good cholesterol)
  • Blood pressure
  • Body fat percentage
  • Vision (not available at all locations)
  • Hearing (not available at all locations)

Some of the screenings will be offered on a “while supplies last” basis, so try to get there earlier rather than later.

While everyone is supposed to have health insurance these days, I know that not everyone does. I also know that even simple screenings are better than no screenings at all.

Best-case scenario: You find out you’ve got the HDL and body fat of an Olympic athlete. And if the screening turns up something less pleasing? At least you’ll get the heads-up to pursue further treatment options.

If you haven’t had your health checked lately, take advantage of this free opportunity.

  1. Sharing widely. I still know folks who are uninsured, and I think services like these are a terrific way to handle some of the nagging preventative care tasks that would cost big bucks to do out of pocket.

    Thanks for posting!

      • To get health care or health insurance free or nearly free?

On a related note: We had to insure my husband for a few months out of pocket and the CHEAPEST plan was $476/month. That is NOT “affordable”

        • Health care, not health insurance. Although the insurance might be free if you buy through the marketplace, depending on how much you earn.

And yes, insurance is expensive — as a self-employed, self-insured person I understand what you mean.
