Giveaway: A $50 gift card from Swagbucks.

thWant a $50 head start on your summer fun? Let the Swagbucks rewards site give it to you.

The program, which is my favorite rewards site, is sponsoring a “Gateway to Summer Fun Giveaway.” The prize: a $50 card from its Rewards Store.

Normally you get up to five ways to enter my site’s giveaways. This time it’s different: Only one entry per person is allowed, and you have to do a little work to get it.

The good news? Some of this “work” will actually benefit you – that is, if you like earning free gift cards year-round.

Once you get into the habit of using the program regularly you can cash in for gift cards or even cash money (via PayPal). My own favorite cash-in is for Amazon gift cards, which I use for frugal holiday shopping and items for own household (from flax seed to eyedrops).

But since this giveaway is all about summer fun, maybe you’d prefer something like:

  • A gift card from Target, to buy shorts and flip-flops for your kids.
  • A hotel gift certificate for an upcoming trip
  • Some Bass Pro scrip to put toward that new fishing rod/tent/camp stove
  • A Sports Authority GC to help pay for a new softball glove
  • Some gasoline cards for a summer road trip

How to enter

First, you must be a member of the Swagbucks program. If you aren’t, please consider joining through my referral link.

Next, visit the Rewards Store and decide which card you’d most like to have. Leave a comment below, signed with your Swagbucks user name, explaining what you’d cash in for and why.

Finally, you must earn at least 25 points (“Swag Bucks,” or SBs) before 7 p.m. PDT Friday, May 29.

Getting those points shouldn’t be a problem. Simply answering the single-question Swagbucks Daily Poll will net you 15 points during that time frame. Using the Swagbucks search engine is another fairly easy way to win.

After that, how you earn is up to you. Choose from channels like Search, Shop, Play, Answer, Discover (including Special Offers and Encrave), Watch (including SBTV mobile) and Daily (Poll, NOSO, Daily Crave, et al.).

Check in with the Swagbucks Facebook page during the day because readers post “Swag Codes,” good for additional points, as they become available. Check your inbox during the day for other offers, including “Watch & Earn” short videos – you’ll get two SBs for watching videos that last as little as 16 seconds.

Again: Enter with your username, once only, and make sure the comment includes what card you’d choose. And yes, you must make it a point to garner at least 25 SBs during the next two weeks – the winner’s earnings will be checked.

I love it when readers win gift cards. Thanks to Swagbucks for sponsoring a $50 one.

    • We are having a Birthday Party May 30, for My Mom who will be 80 on 5-21…her Grandson who will be 34 on 5-23…her Brother who will be 73 on 6-1 and her Great Granddaughter who will be 3 5-6…so I’d use the gift card on the Party, or to buy my Mom a gift. My Mom is a 3-time Breast Cancer Survivor and deserves nothing but the BEST. We are soooo LUCKY to have her still here to Celebrate a Birthday. We plan to Party down and make some new Memories. Thanks Collette

  5. Well, Donna, I’ll try. But my last perception of Swagbucks was that they aren’t very friendly to a visually impaired user, and my experience today confirms that.

I did manage to log in (user name: Sherry, ’cause I’m original like that) and see how many SB I had in my account. After that…things went downhill.

I opened the Daily Poll, but couldn’t tell for sure how to select an option. Found the Vote button, but I’m not sure if my vote stuck. I didn’t expect the Games to be navigable, but I was hoping, especially when I saw they had a Memory game. No dice. In a last-ditch attempt, I jumped to the Watch page, thinking surely I could watch some videos. I could only find a few, and the ones I found tended to crash my Adobe Flash Plug-in.

I’ll keep trying–I’m nothing if not stubborn–but I’m not optimistic. Thanks for the giveaway, though. I know a lot of people, you included, have done really well with the SwagBucks site.

Oh, right–almost forgot! If I succeed, and if I’m selected, I’d like an Amazon gift card.

    • Sherry: I’ll forward your comment to the Swagbucks people. I’m sorry that it doesn’t work as well for your situation.
In the meantime, I’d suggest using the search engine.
Thanks for being such a consistent reader and commenter.

      • Donna, thanks! I should probably contact them myself; it just hasn’t been a priority. I know in the days before I lost my eyesight, I earned a few gift cards and did enjoy the site.

I’d forgotten all about searching! I’m always looking up something or other–I’ll have to remember to use their search engine. Thanks for the suggestion!

  6. Ironically, I just signed up for swagbucks two days ago. I decided to take the leap. I would get the amazon $50 dollar card because I buy so many things from amazon. My SB username is mooncakes121. I earned 30 SB from doing a survey today, does that count?

  21. I’d go for a Starbucks gift card. I’d end up splitting it up between my two sisters who are in the navy since the cards can be used at any Starbucks location in the world and when they’re on deployment and might pull into a friendly port, a caramel macchiatto can go a long way.
