Giveaway: Return of the TSA-friendly travel kit.

thMemorial Day weekend is coming up, as is a summer full of potential getaways. If the idea of paying $1.59 for a one-ounce tube of toothpaste irritates you as much as it does me, then you need this week’s prize.

These TSA-friendly travel bag giveaways are always insanely popular. The price of that toothpaste probably has a lot to do with it.

In addition, you won’t have to refill travel bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Plus: A free Ziploc freezer bag!

This time around, we’re looking at toiletries both luxurious and mundane:

Two products from Philosophy. The winner will get one-ounce bottles of Mangos and Cream shower gel/bubble bath and body lotion. You’ll be the best-smelling person in the joint.

Colgate Max-Fresh toothpaste. This particular tube is alleged to have whitening properties and, to continue the delicious-smelling theme, “mini breath strips.”

Dental floss. A cute little eight-yard container of Reach mint-flavored waxed string. After all, spinach in your teeth makes such a bad impression.

Three more products from Philosophy. “Purity” is a foaming facial-cleansing gel. “Hands of Hope” is a teeny little tube of hand and cuticle cream. “Eyes Wide Open” is described as an “instant refreshing and depuffing eye gel.” Who knew there were so many parts of the body that need specialty unguents? Then again, your skin might need a little help after a long plane ride or that first beach weekend.

Lip balm. This ChapStick promises eight-hour moisture and has an SPF of 12. See “long plane ride/beach weekend,” above.

Shampoo and conditioner. These are from Neutrogena and are alleged to be “volumizing” and “body-enhancing,” respectively.

Here’s hoping you all have a great summer and at least one chance to get away during those few months. Win this bag and that’ll be one less thing to pay for, or to pack.

To enter:

If you do any (or all!) of these things, please leave separate, additional comments to get credit for each entry.

The deadline is 7 p.m. PDT Tuesday, May 12. If I don’t hear back from the winner by 7 p.m. PDT Wednesday, May 13, I’ll pull another name.

Note: Due to the high cost of international shipping, a winner from outside the United States will receive an Amazon gift card.

  1. I love to travel, but have never taken the time to put a package like this together…and don’t get me started about the toothpaste.

  2. miniatures are always useful, from shoehorning your way into the teeny-weeny showers to the less-than-nothing sink space… hoping someone will invent a hovering toiletry bag one of these days.

  3. What a great idea! My bf is a freelance film guy and often goes on last minute overnight gigs. And I travel whenever I can to Denver (from Los Angeles) to see my nephews. It’s a short flight so I just carry on a bag never check anything so this would be perfect.

  4. Travel size Philosophy products? How decadent! And, as close as I’m going to get, unless I win the lottery and can afford the full sizes. Thank you!

  5. Would be great for my upcoming trip to Scotland. You’re right, Donna, about not wanting to pay a small fortune for a small tube of toothpaste.

  6. I did so enjoy the travel bag I won here 2 (or was it 3) years ago. Hoping that lightning strikes twice. This is a great give away. I follow your blog here and on Facebook.

  7. I love your blog, and I could use this when we visit our Grandchildren in CA later this year. The small items we are allowed to take on the airplane are so crazy expensive!!!

  8. Ooh, this sounds quite luxurious for a travel bag. I hope I go somewhere this summer where I’ll need a package of tiny personal care products!
