Giveaway: Starbucks and WordPress.

thRecently I attended “Press Publish,” a one-day seminar presented in Phoenix by WordPress. If you’re a writer (published or not) and one of these seminars comes to your neck of the woods, by all means go.

The day was crammed with programs from WordPress professionals (including a group of “happiness engineers” — what a cool thing to have on a business card) and pro bloggers. It didn’t cost much (they even had a coupon!) and the breakfast, lunch and snacks were great. (At least one blogger from Alaska went a little overboard on the fresh pineapple.)

In addition, writers (published or not) from a wide section of Arizona got to meet one another. I truly believe the event changed lives.

But on to this week’s giveaway. (There’s a connection. I promise.)

 

Everyone who attended the seminar got a sturdy canvas bag with the WP logo on it, plus a Press Publish lined journal (with pen) and a pocket-sized  notebook with the Jetpack image (I use Jetpack on this site and it’s a marvelous blogging tool).

When I saw the notebook I thought it would be perfect for jotting down writing ideas when you’re on the go. The lined journal would be great for fleshing out those ideas, or for keeping a diary.

And when I thought of journals I flashed on those “Coffeehouse Cliche” giveaways that I’ve done in the past. When Groupon offered me a $10 Starbucks card today for $5, how could I resist?

The winner can throw the notebook and journal in the tote bag and shuffle off to Starbucks for the iced beverage of his/her choice. Now that summer has arrived, why not use someone else’s air conditioning on a steamy day?

You can write in the journal or just sit gratefully in the coolth, sipping a flavored iced tea, a lemonade, an iced coffee or whatever else works. You’re welcome.

Incidentally: I’m not getting paid to gush over WordPress, Press Publish or Jetpack. I just really like them.

  88. I don’t do Starbucks, but I know someone who does, and would love the gift card. I would like the notebooks. I’m always writing lists, etc. wherever I happen to be. Note to self: why not write all those lists and notes in one place?
