If I were you, I’d let him.
Okay, so Mr. Rebates isn’t really a person — he’s the public face of my favorite cash-back shopping site, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a really big prize.
Yep — $10,000 will be given to one lucky member. This giveaway is super-simple to enter: Just sign up as a Mr. Rebates member and visit any page on the site. (I hope you’ll join using my referral link.) You can get one entry per day until Feb. 29 — in other words, up to 23 more chances to win $10k.
Each time you visit, look for things you buy online anyway and see what kinds of rebates are offered. If you’re not familiar with cash-back shopping, here’s how it works:
- You shop at the places you normally visit — Drugstore.com, 1-800-PetMeds, Expedia, Old Navy, Sephora, whatever.
- But rather than go directly to those sites, you visit via Mr. Rebates.
- Mr. Rebates gets a finder’s fee, which it splits with you.
Those rebates run from 1% to 30% of your purchase price. Online coupons, including some exclusive ones, are offered. So is free shipping in many cases.
You can get cash back for everything from baby clothes to rental cars, dating sites to genealogical research, contact lenses to SpaWish certificates, airline tickets to smartphones.
Give it a try — and if you win that $10,000 you’d better come back and tell us about it.
Woah – for 10K, I’m interested. But I have a question: I’ve been using Ebates for a couple of years. Have you tried Ebates? Do you think Mr. Rebates is better/worse/different? Any thoughts?
I suppose there’s no law against me using both of them…
@Schmei: You can use both. In fact, I belong to both myself. But I like Mr. Rebates because you can get a check as soon as you hit $10 (they start you out with $5) and you can request a check each month vs. waiting for a quarterly payout.
I just signed up thru your link it was asking for a referral email address though. Make sure I am credited to you. I didn’t put an email address because I didnt know which one you use for it.
@Msjbelle: Yep, you’re in there — the referral link included the e-mail address. Thanks, and good luck.
ok signed up at mr rebates using your referral link.
good luck to both of us.
I’m going to promote this for you because I know there are tons of rebate, coupon, and deal shoppers out there! I hate to admit that I don’t have the skill for this task! (Don’t tell anyone)
@Barb Friedberg: Thanks for the link love, Barb. And I won’t have to tell anyone — you just outed yourself.
Add another one to your referrals. I’ve been using Upromise and ShopAtHome, so I’ll add this to my money-saving arsenal!
