Support the reader economy: Giveaway #7.

Yikes, it’s almost New Year’s Eve! Glad I could get one more “Support the Reader Economy” giveaway in before 2023. Since inflation shows no signs of stopping, the giveaways will continue as well.

The prize is a $25 gift card to the retailer of the winner’s choice.

Although $25 doesn’t make much of a dent in a typical monthly budget, it could at least help cover an unexpected expense, or provide a bit of fun for someone who has been through the mill lately.

Maybe the winner will choose something a practical retailer, such as a supermarket or gas station. Possibly a drugstore or superstore, for necessities like toothpaste or new socks.

A very practical person might opt to hang on to the gift card for a special occasion, such as a child’s birthday (or for the time that kid starts to outgrow his shoes). The winner could also decide to get a gift card for an impractical retailer, like a coffee shop or an ice-cream emporium, or ask for a movie theater gift card so they could treat themselves to a few flicks.

Winner decides, winner chooses. That is, as long as I can obtain the gift card with reasonable ease.

How to enter the giveaway

Five different entry options (see below) are possible. However, do not leave a daily comment. It won’t improve your chances of winning, because extra comments will be deleted.

Note: Readers from outside the United States should feel free to enter, since the prize can be an e-gift card.

And: Even if you’ve already won a previous Support the Reader Economy giveaway, it’s okay to keep entering. The random number generator may decide to strike twice.

Here’s how to enter to win:

Please leave a separate comment for each entry (e.g., “Follow you on Twitter” or “Subscribed by e-mail”).

The deadline to enter is 6 p.m. PST Monday, Jan. 9. I notify winners via e-mail, so be sure to check yours. If I don’t hear back by 6 p.m. PST Tuesday, Jan. 10, I’ll have the random number generator choose a new name.

  2. This is my first time entering any of your contests. I’ve been reading your posts 10 years. I would be thrilled to win. I would give it to my daughter and son in law to buy essentials that aren’t available for them on base in Spain.

Do you think you could go back and clean up the mess that is MSN? And make them pay you a boatload of money to do so?

  8. How nice. I just bought a full case of the large size cans (double size of small cans) of Contadina tomato paste off the Amazon wish list for our local soup kitchen for $20.xx delivered. $25 can go a long way depending on what is purchased. Thanks for doing the giveaway.

  10. Long time reader. Since it can be for a retailer of choice, if the random number generator smiles on me, I’d choose a grocery store, match your $25 and give it all to the Food Bank. Happy New Year!
