“The Amazing Spider-Man” — on the big screen or on your wall.

Last week I neglected to post a giveaway, and swore I’d make it up to you. That’s why there are two prizes this week, both in honor of the re-imagining of the “Spider-Man” franchise.

One prize is cinematic: a $15 AMC movie gift card. If you don’t have an AMC theater in your area, sell it on the secondary market. (For the nuts and bolts, see “Selling unwanted gift cards.”)

The other prize is artistic: a “Spider-Man” diptych drawn by my brother, freelance artist GW Fisher. The two-part work features Spidey taking on four villains: Mysterio, Venom, Electro and Dr. Octopus.

Unfortunately I can’t show the diptych due to technical difficulties. But my brother does quality work — and I’d say that even if he weren’t my brother. You may remember that I put four of his superhero prints up for grabs back in April; if not, re-visit that giveaway  and see for yourself.

To enter:

If you do any (or all!) of these things, please leave separate, additional comments to get credit for each entry.

The deadline is 9 p.m. PDT on Monday, July 8. If the winner does not respond to my e-mail by midday Wednesday, I’ll have the random number generator draw another winner. In other words: If you enter the contest, check your e-mail on Tuesday.

  1. Oh if I win this, I can finally go splurge and see the Avengers! Otherwise, I’m waiting until they come to the cheap theatre.

  4. I would cherish a fabulous spidey diptych by your brother! His art is fabulous!

Having the freedom to choose the job you want instead of the one you must take to feed the family. That was my goal, to never again be handcuffed to a job that was hideous. Made it & happy about it now!! I love reading about your new life travelling and writing – it sounds like you got where you wanted to go too!!

  5. Hi, Donna,

Hii from Juneau, from someone who enjoys your thoughtful posts here and elsewhere. In the event your random picker-chooser picks me, I’ll be donating the tickets to my newly engaged niece who lives where she can enjoy them. Because, trust me, that girl can make a nickel scream, and she needs to with all her college debt (would you believe it took her a YEAR to find a job with a degree in ACCOUNTING?!). The pictures will be a perfect Xmas gift for an adult nephew; well, adult chronologically because he maintains a youthful attitude.

Anyway, thanks for the fun chance to drop you a line, which I never do under ordinary circumstances.
