These things would come in handy right before the holidays.
Who am I kidding? Gift cards come in handy any time.
Only one of the three opportunities requires any real time investment – and since that time would be spent carving a jack o’lantern, it’s hardly painful.
Well, except maybe to the pumpkin, if pumpkins were sentient. But they aren’t. Unless, that is, you believe the Arrogant Worms song “Carrot Juice Is Murder.”
Philosophical derail over. Time to win some cards.
The coupon and deal site Savings.com is giving away $500 worth of Walmart gift cards in partnership with Valpak (the blue-envelope-full-of-coupons folks). Ten lucky folks will be selected at random to get $50 worth of scrip each.
Use this link to enter before 11:59 p.m. PDT on Friday, Oct. 19.
Oh, and watch for the Valpak coupon worth $1.50 of Community Coffee, redeemable at – you guessed it – Walmart.
Halloween and Black Friday gift cards
A website called BFAds.net is running a pair of giveaways at the moment. One of them is sponsored by the Ebates cash-back shopping site, and the prize is pretty skookum: a $200 Amazon gift card.
Cash-back shopping is a great way to save money on things you were going to buy anyway. Instead of starting at the retailer’s website, you go through Ebates or any of the other cash-back sites out there (such as Mr. Rebates, Dollar Dig and Extrabux).
You can enter to win the $200 card up to four different ways by visiting this link. The deadline is 4 p.m. CDT on Friday, Oct. 19.
BFAds.net is also doing its annual Black Friday Pumpkin-Carving Contest. The prizes are good for this one, too: American Express gift cards in $100, $150 and $250 denominations, and BFAds 2018 T-shirts for 25 others.
Carve the coolest pumpkin you can, take a picture and upload it for your chance to win. This article on BFAds.net tells more, and includes links to submissions from previous years to get your creative juices flowing.
The entry deadline is 11:59 p.m. CDT Sunday, Oct. 28.
I hope one (or more!) of you gets to win. If so, please come back and tell me.
Thanks Donna! I did enter the non-carving giveaways. I am not very creative or good at pumpkin carving, but I look forward to seeing the entries and winners. There are already a few entries on their site and the talent and skills amaze me.
I’m not much for carving, either, but I do enjoy looking at what others do.
A friend’s kid called it “shaving” the pumpkin. Guess he’d never heard the word “carve” before and chose the next most likely word.
Thanks for providing all these links to gift card giveaways, Donna. I can ALWAYS use some Walmart scrip, for sure!
Oh, yeah, I’m not talented when it comes to making things with my hands either, so let’s not even talk about pumpkin carving. Anything involving sharp knives just ain’t happening. ;o)
