For the second year in a row I’ll be attending the SaveUp conference, which is sponsored by Savings.com. Allow me to extend a virtual invitation to “attend” a couple of programs – and maybe win a 16GB iPad 2.
Two live-stream events are open to the public on Thursday, Oct. 13:
Jenny Martin, who blogs at Southern Savers, will teach a grocery-couponing class at 3:15 p.m. EDT. If you have specific questions you can ask them live on Twitter; just send them to #SU11 any time after the class starts.
Starting at 4:15 p.m., four of the DealPros will give 10-minute presentations based on how came to embrace the frugal lifestyle. Two of them are a couple: Tiffany and Paul Ivanovsky, of MyLitter.com and IHeartTheMart.com (as in “Wal-Mart”). The Ivanovskys were also featured on an episode of the “Extreme Couponing” program. They are both ethical and down-to-earth, qualities that some say are in short supply on this controversial TLC reality show.
The third presenter is Andrea Deckard, who runs a site called Savings Lifestyle. And the fourth speaker is me.
At about 5 p.m. Savings.com will give away the iPad 2. To qualify, first leave an RSVP at the SaveUp Live Streaming event page on Facebook. Then tune in to Ustream at 3:15 p.m. EDT on Thursday and watch the events. (Note: They will check to make sure you “attended.”)
