More than 1,500 museums in all 50 states will be open free of charge on Saturday, Sept. 24 during the annual event known as “Museum Day Live!”
Or, rather, they’ll be open to those who take advantage of a Smithsonian magazine offer: a ticket good for two people to any participating museum.
What are you waiting for?
All you have to do is register online and wait for the ticket to be e-mailed, then print it out and take it to the museum you chose. The ticket is good for two people but isn’t valid for special exhibits. You have to pay for your own parking (if applicable).
Still: Free admission!
Choose wisely, however, because you can go to only one venue. Enjoy.
Thank you for the info. I just got my ticket to a wonderful interactive historic village near-by. This is going to be fun!
Glad to hear it! Hope you have a great time.
The best word in the English language-free!!!!!
We have been trying to find more free things to do in this area. There are little fests in Antioch but they are normally during the week and Den is just beat by the time he gets home. I keep telling him that yardwork is a good way to spend the weekend. He isn’t sold. I don’t know why.
