Anyone want a $25 Amazon gift card?

Books from amazon © by Aurelijus Valeiša

This week’s drawing is for the kind of prize most favored by readers. Chocolate runs a very close second – but allow me to point out that you can buy chocolate on Amazon.com.

The giveaway is sponsored by TechBargains.com, a giant deal site for all things consumer-electronic. The company’s international corps of “bargainmeisters” are always sniffing out low prices on products and services at the lowest possible prices.

If you (like me!) would prefer to let someone else do the research and price comparisons, then this is the way to get your next upgrade or that new piece of e-quipment you’ve been eyeing.

And if you don’t want electronics? A sister site, PlanetBargains.com, features a startling variety of deals on clothing, furniture and décor, gifts, baby items, sporting goods, beauty products and just about anything else you can imagine.

When I checked in today the landing page featured (among many other things) laundry detergent, office chairs, a cigar sampler pack, solar-powered landscape lighting, diver’s watches, cases of paper towels, ramen Halloween costumes, discounted magazine subscriptions, Disney flip-flops and a ton of online coupon codes. I love it when other people gather up the deals for me.

To enter:

If you do any (or all!) of these things, please leave separate, additional comments to get credit for each entry.

The deadline to enter is 9 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time on Tuesday, Oct. 16. If I don’t hear back from the winner by 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, I’ll pull another name.

  1. I would definitely like a Amazon gift card (more than chocolate) I love to read and have stopped buying books to save more. But the library does not have all I want to read, especially not in English!

  2. I would love the Amazon GC. I order a lot from them, like freeze dried fruit on a subscription place which makes it even less expensive.

  3. Not worried about Christmas here – only do grandkids and they want magazine subscriptions again.

However, bdays are coming up for both DDs and both order a LOT from Amazon.

  4. I would love an Amazon gift card! we need another tower space heater for our house and it would help with the price!

  5. Just found your site and subscribed via facebook. So much useful information on here. Thanks! The Amazon giftcard would be a great Christmas gift.

  6. I’d love to have this. October 16th is Bosses Day and since I’m the “Boss of me” it would make a great gift!

  10. I could use it, as well! I’m in the same boat you are–we just moved two weeks ago. The “Honey-Do List” just keeps growing!!

  11. I really love your posts, esp the recent de-cluttering, because we are in escrow on our house and going through the very same process of deciding what to keep. I presently follow you on FB and through RSS feed. Thanks for all you share.

  12. I would love to win the Amazon gift card! I’ve started Christmas shopping, and it would come in handy.

  13. You are my favorite contributor to Get Rich Slowly! Thanks again for the opportunity to win the Amazon gift card.

  14. Please enter me…there’s a new book on Amazon.com that I’m dying to buy. I read your blogs every time you post a new one!

  15. I’d love to enter! I like websites like that – so I don’t have to go digging around online to find deals!

  16. Due to mobility issues I do most of my shopping online. This Amazon gift card would help with that. Thank for all of your articles. They make interesting reading.

  17. Me, me, me! 😉 Great give-a-way! (I’d probably give it to my oldest in college to help pay for textbooks.) Thanks!

  18. I love Amazon and your blog and yes chocolate but never knew you could buy them on Amazon. Thank you for the fantastic giveaway to win

  19. If it’s FREE ….it’s for me!!!! Card would go to DD2, a college student, who would use it to buy text books. Amazon has been an excellent source for her books lately.

  20. Yes, please! Just discovered you today on MSN. I am so impressed! Please help me live my life cheaper!!

  21. chocolate can only go so far… amazon gift cards, on the other hand, are much more useful 😉

  22. And here is my comment for the sake of commenting. I really do love shopping on Amazon. You can’t beat it. And my house is a money pit (aren’t they all?). I could think of 12 things right now that I’d love to get for the casa.

  23. I love Amazon. I always buy books for my Kindle there and a lot of my supplies for my 4 cats. Their prices can’t be beat!

  24. have already collected 2 AGC’s for the holidays – I never have enough cash to provide for my foster kiddos and this card would up my stash – pick me, pick me!

great post: as always, we can rely on DF for great bargain hunting!

  25. Wll I already subscribe via RSS and have you on both FB and Twitter, so I guess I’ll just remind you how much I love chocolate, but an Amazon gift card could comed in handy for Christmas presents. Hoping all is well up there in the far North!

  26. Huge Amazon fan (since they have just about everything for (usually) reasonable prices and (often) with free shipping).

  27. Count me in for the giveaway! I checked out both sites. You’re right, it is nice when someone compiles the bargains for you. I’ll definitely be using them!

  28. I haven’t been keeping up with blogs lately and just realized you moved to Alaska. I have to go back and find out what prompted the move. I hope it’s going well for you up there!

  29. “Leave a comment below…”
When I see that phrase, I wonder what the comments think about it. Do they rejoice in their new-found freedom? Do they look around hopefully for a lusty flame-war to join in on? Or do they cringe in fear of becoming troll-food? Do they twirl their commas and wave their semicolons, a hopeful wallflower in a field of abandoned threads?
Is the refrigerator light still on when you close the door in the middle of a forest with no one watching except (perhaps) the ghost of Schrodingers cat?

  30. Can I say you are a sort of hero of mine? Too much? haha. I have been enjoying your articles for so long. You remind me of my mother, she had her masters in lit, loved to read and write, and was very intelligent and giving. Please excuse grammar, that I did not inherit! I am an accountant and love hearing all of your frugal ways! Why? Because then I have more to share like you do. Would love the gift card to use towards advent things for young cousins. Thanks!
