Giveaway: $15 Starbucks gift card.

It’s darned hot in the Lower 48 right now. Anyone up for a cold drink? I’m giving away a $15 Starbucks gift card.

What you use it for is up to you, of course. Maybe a mango dragonfruit lemonade, or a caramel ribbon crunch Frappucino, or a chocolate cream cold brew.

Those all sound like desserts to me, but hey, whatever floats your boat. And cools you down. It’s punishingly hot down in the States, and in Hawaii, so let me buy you a Starbucks beverage.

Maybe you’ll go for an iced Americano, an iced toasted vanilla oatmilk shaken espresso, an iced cinnamon dolce latte or an iced caramel macchiato.

Whew. Complicated!

Perhaps iced tea is more your speed in the summer. You can actually get an iced black tea, or an iced black tea lemonade, at Starbucks. But if you’re in the mood for something a little more frou-frou, consider stuff like an iced peach green tea, an iced passion tango tea (well!) or an iced matcha tea latte.

Point is, all these drinks are cold. And that’s what many of us are hankering for right now, so we don’t burst into flame.

I’m told that some people drink hot beverages in hot weather, swearing that it cools them down through sweating. Sure. You do you.

  2. I was visiting London last week where I think it was close to 90* – way too hot for London and I’m not crazy about 90* even at home in central MD. Nitro cold brew is my favorite drink – great on a hot summer day.

  5. Thank you for the giveaway! I’m in DC enjoying the sights of our Nations Capital for the holiday weekend, and it’s been an enjoyable high of 78-80 with low humidity! Headed home to upper 90’s and “feels like” temps of 105-110 🥵

  6. The Starbucks’ drinks do sound primarily like deserts with corresponding carb counts. Hmm, maybe an iced Americano? Would be an intriguing challenge to figure out if a cold, low carb offering exists there. Follow via email & thank you, Donna, for this cold giveaway.

  9. Please put my name in the game. I subscribe by emails. It is getting warmer here right now, but I turned my heat on for just a touch this morning as it was 48 here overnight and I had the windows open. We are in PA. The last two days here were cool, but this week will warm up. You don’t know how to dress. One day you need pj’s, the next a nightgown. Better than people out west though!

  10. Just wanted to let you know I was chosen for one of the “giving” cards after I read your article and entered. I bought and assembled “birthday cake kits” for my local food bank (Pan/cake mix/frosting/candles) and then put the giving card in one of the bags. Thanks for speaking the word on this! It was fun.
