The winter holidays always represent a big Hollywood push. Whether the films are about any actual holidays doesn’t matter. Studios know that plenty of people are looking for a bit of escapism at this time of year.

Some want to get away from the relatives who have descended. Others want to sneak away from the general pressures of the Silly Season. No matter your reason, maybe the first $25 worth of fun could be on me this year: I’m giving away an AMC gift card.

AMC has been in business for more than 100 years, and is the largest movie theater company in the world. Chances are there’s one near you. Or maybe not: Alaska doesn’t have AMC.

But if you don’t live near an AMC theater, maybe you know someone who does. In that case, this $25 AMC gift card could make a fine holiday or birthday gift. Or perhaps you could sell it on the secondary market.

Note: I have a $25 Regal gift card that will be going up for grabs, too. Maybe as soon as next week.

 

How to enter to win the $25 AMC gift card

This is a physical card that needs to be mailed, so it can’t become your Thanksgiving Day escape hatch. But other holidays/special observances happen between now and New Year’s Eve, so you’ll be ready. 

Here’s how to take your shot at some free films:

The deadline to enter is 6 p.m. PST Saturday, Nov. 25. I notify winners via e-mail, so be sure to check yours. If I don’t hear back by 6 p.m. PST Sunday, Nov. 26, I’ll have the random number generator choose a new name.

  15. AMC is my favorite chain movie theater! I have been a member of their AMC Stubs Premiere program for several years, which provides fee-free online ticket purchases, a $5 reward for every $50 spent, a free popcorn and soda for your birthday, free size upgrades on popcorn and soda purchases, and more!

    And if you’re an AMC shareholder, they’ve been providing free and discounted items for the past year or so through their AMC Investor Connect program, as well.
