Giveaway: $25 clothing gift card.

thWe’re spending less on back-to-school shopping this year, according to the National Retail Federation: an average of $630.36 per family with kids in K-12. That’s about $39 less than last year.

Almost one in five families are already shopping, both to avoid crowds and to spread out the cost among multiple paychecks.

I’ve got another way for you to stretch your BTS budget: Win the $25 gift card I’m giving away this week.

The card is good at five different stores: Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta and Piperlime. Spend it all in one place, or go from store to store.

Summer clearance sales are hot and heavy right now, and not all of it is bikinis and flip-flops. Khakis, short-sleeved shirts and the like can be worn in September (and maybe longer, if you live in a warm place).

Don’t have kids? Spend it on yourself! Or do a little early holiday shopping. Or sell the card on a discounted gift card site and pocket the cash; right now this gift card is going for up to 80 percent of face value, i.e., an extra $20 in your pocket.

You can enter up to six ways:

If you do any (or all!) of these things, please leave separate, additional comments to get credit for each entry.

The deadline is 7 p.m. PDT Tuesday, July 21. If I don’t hear back from the winner by 7 p.m. PDT Wednesday, July 22, I’ll pull another name.

  1. Hi Donna, I am an email subscriber here and on your other site (WABPWR.com). Here is my comment for today as well! Does this constitute 3 entries.

I listened to the podcast “over coffee” the other day when out walking with my dog. It is always fun to hear the voices of bloggers and I enjoyed hearing about how you grew up and where you are from as well as the hints for writing etc.

    Cheers.

  2. Could use a clothing refresh. Have discovered stains on several of my T’s that are just not coming out. Will need a couple of fresh T’s to look professional.

  4. My daughter is starting kindergarten in the fall! I’d put this towards the purchase of her public school “standard of dress” clothing.

  6. Since we only have the Gap around here, I’d probably give it to my niece to use on her back to school shopping for her two kids

  12. I follow you on Facebook. And, if I win, I will let you know by email how I used the card. My grown children call me “the queen of bargains” and they say it as a compliment. You have no idea how many people I could bless with a coupon for $25 worth of clothes!

  13. This is a great offer and I would use the gift card to give to my niece as a birthday present. She’s at the age where she prefers to do her own shopping for her own gift.

  14. This would be a great card to add to the backpack I fill for a middle school student this year, in addition to the school supplies on the school district’s list. What a welcome surprise that would be. Thanks for a great giveaway.

  16. I’m past the days of BTS but with 4 grandchildren (12, 10, 8, and 2) I’m sure I can find a place to spend it. Fingers crossed I win it, but if not—some one will get to enjoy it.
