Giveaway: Alaska aurora calendar.

As I noted recently, it’s high time you started any holiday shopping you plan for the year. Due to supply chain/pandemic issues, it’s going to be harder to find what you want and it will almost certainly cost more than you hoped.

Here’s one solution: Win your gifts!

I post those e-gift card giveaways from Savings.com whenever I hear about them, in the hopes that one (or more!) of my readers will luck out. Regular readers also know that I give stuff away myself fairly often.

Lately I’ve been trying to focus on locally made items. This week’s giveaway is the Aurora 2022: Alaska’s Northern Lights calendar from Fairbanks-based Greatland Graphics.

Who’s in?

If you follow that link, you’ll be able to click on “calendar preview” and get an eyeful of Alaska’s magical aurora. Some of them are so magical that they look staged, but they’re not.

Unless you live in Alaska, it’s a pretty safe bet that this would be a one-of-a-kind gift to someone on your list. Highly unlikely that this special someone would say, “Oh. Another northern lights calendar. Thanks, I guess.”

Or, heck, keep it yourself. These photos are pretty spectacular.

Third option: Win one to give as a gift, then buy one or more for other recipients and/or yourself.

Enter to win the aurora calendar

As always, it’s pretty simple to throw your virtual hat into the virtual ring:

Be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry (e.g., “Subscribed via e-mail” or “Follow you on Twitter”).

The deadline for entering is 6 p.m. PDT Friday, Oct. 8. If I don’t hear back from the winner by 6 p.m. PDT Saturday, Oct. 9, I’ll have the random number generator select a new name.

Note: Due to the high cost of international shipping, this giveaway is limited to U.S. residents.

  2. My parents and I are not going to exchange gifts this year, which will actually save a lot of stress, but I’ll still need some smaller gifts for friends and neighbors.

  3. Love the northern lights. Unfortunately I live to far south to see them anymore. Grew up in northern ND and would see them often dancing in the sky. I get your emails,

  6. This is beautiful and exactly what I need for myself as I am a wall calendar appointment and birthday reminder type of person. I hope I win since I haven’t had much success finding a new calendar for 2022.
