Giveaway: Two $25 gift cards.

I’ve been trying to focus on Alaska goods for my giveaways lately, in order to support the local economy. My idea is that some of the folks who don’t win might decide to check out these the Last Frontier economy* on their own. I even had an Alaska item picked out to give away – but then I realized it might not get to its recipient before Christmas. That’s why I’m doing something non-local today: gift cards.

Which gift cards? Whichever the winners want, provided I can obtain them electronically.

Drugstore? Discount emporium? Office-supply place? Home improvement center? Supermarket? Bookstore? Massive online retailer? It’s your call, if you win.

Two winners get to use these card to finish up their holiday shopping. They could opt to give the cards themselves as gifts. Or donate them. Or, maybe, use the cards for something they themselves need.

Again: Your call. Provided you win, of course.

Some people don’t much like gift cards. I love giving them, myself, because I want to let my teenaged great-niece choose her own fun stuff from Hot Topic, or give my BFF the option to buy whatever tickles her fancy on Amazon. (Doesn’t hurt a bit that I can – and do! – get cards for free from various rewards programs.)

Again, I need to be able to get these online easily. Choosing your own favorite local economy might actually work, if I can buy the e-scrip from their website.

Enter to win a gift card

To throw your virtual hat into the virtual ring, do one or more of the following:

Be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry (e.g., “Subscribed via e-mail” or “Follow you on Twitter”).

This one’s a quicker-turnaround giveaway than usual, because of the holiday. The deadline for entering is 6 p.m. PST Monday, Dec. 20. If I don’t hear back from the winner by 6 p.m. PST Tuesday, Dec. 21, I’ll have the random number generator select a new name.

And watch the next giveaway for a return to Fun Alaska Stuff.

*It works sometimes, too. Just got a note from Denali Dreams, saying that a customer told them she found their products through my site. That made me happy.

  1. I’d love to get a gift card from Walmart, Sams or Aldi. Any local grocery store would be great! We also have a Dillons or Hyvee around but I think it would go furtherest at Aldi.
