A couple of months ago I spoke at the New Media Expo conference in Las Vegas. While there I met a slew of podcasters, some of whom asked for my card and inquired as to my availability for interviews.
One of them recently followed up: Dot Cannon, an independent new-media broadcaster with TwoMaverix.com. In her Over Coffee podcast series she talks “with artists and innovators about the process of changing the world in terms of what they do.”
We set a date, did the interview and now “Game-changing the future” is available for your listening pleasure.
Some of you already know my basic backstory, from reading posts like “The life I once led,” “Surviving (and thriving) on $12k a year: The reboot” and “Turning invisibility into stealth.” In this interview, however, Cannon draws out other tidbits such as:
- My experiences as a single mother
- How I broke into print journalism despite my lack of a college degree
- Why I created the Write A Blog People Will Read course
- What keeps me doing things that scare the pants off me
The podcast runs about 35 minutes. Hope you’ll give it a listen – and if it engenders any other questions, please leave them in the comments section.
Fun fact: During the telephone interview I was too jittery to sit still so I did my walking-in-circles routine. The jitters plus the constant movement meant I sound somewhat breathless during the interview. Note to self: Next time you do an interview, don’t walk.
