Support the reader economy: Giveaway #8.

It’s been a minute since the last giveaway. As inflation shows no signs of disappearing, I will continue this series.

I know that $25 isn’t much. But it beats not having $25.

As always, the rules are simple: Winner gets to choose his or her scrip source. If it’s possible for me to get an e-gift card from your retailer of choice, then I will do so.

This includes cards from outside the United States, so international readers (and I know you’re out there because Google Analytics told me so) should feel free to enter.

I do need to qualify something: Mastercard or Visa prepaid cards are not an option for this giveaway. They add noticeably to the $25 price tag, and I prefer to stretch my prize budget as far as I can.

Okay, two ways: I will do only e-gift cards from now on.

What retailer would you choose, and what would you do with the virtual plastic? You could use it for something you really need, or you could treat yourself (or someone else). Maybe there’s a local charity or social services agency that can always use a boost, or maybe you could surprise someone on your Buy Nothing Facebook group.

Maybe you’ll decide to hold on to it for a gifting occasion. I have done this; in fact, one of my 2022 Christmas presents to a friend was an Amazon card that I won during a Twitter chat. #StirringTalesOfThrift

The choice, like the choice of a retailer, belongs to each week’s winner.

How to enter the giveaway

You can’t win if you don’t enter. Use one or more (or all) of the five different ways noted below. All are easy. (Note: Please do not leave a daily comment, since extras will be deleted.)

And if you’ve already won a Support the Reader Economy giveaway? Go ahead and enter again. The random number generator may decide to strike twice.

Here’s how to throw your virtual hat into the virtual ring:

Please leave a separate comment for each entry (e.g., “Follow you on Twitter” or “Subscribed by e-mail”).

The deadline to enter is 6 p.m. PST Friday, March 3. I notify winners via e-mail, so be sure to check yours. If I don’t hear back by 6 p.m. PST Saturday, March 4, I’ll have the random number generator choose a new name.

  3. This is the first time I have entered. I didn’t think it would be possible as I am not in the United States. Wonderful opportunity Donna, I’ve enjoyed your website for many years

  4. Whenever somebody would comment about how small an amount of money was, my sweet daddy would say, “That’s a lot of canned goods!” and he was right. $25 is a substantial amount for restocking or maybe starting a pantry. 🙂
